Default Changing Rear Breaks

On my 02 Tacoma V6 TRD 4wd 5spd. My left rear bell crank is frozen. I am going to change my rear breaks and try to free the bell crank up. Is there anything else I should change wheil I am there or is there any parts related to the bell crank that may be bad because it is frozen? I am going to turn the drums when they are off. Any help would be great. Thanks.

You can solve that problem by doing THIS . Let me know how it turns out, I will be a very jealous man. All jokes aside, my crank squeaked as well. I used a marine grade grease and solved it. You will have to disassemble the whole thing to clean out the rust and lubricate the pivot pin. I haven't heard any noise out of it yet. No other parts other than the brake shoes need to be replace. Some will tell you to do the tension springs but yours should be in fine shape if only 3 years old.

The cranks rusting up is an old problem of toyotas. (Especially in WI) relatively simple to fix I thought. Might as well do both sides while your at it.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for thier posts. I changed out my bell crank this weekend. The job was very simple. I purchased the parts from Toyota. Aprox $55. The job was very easy, it only took about 30 minutes to complete. I made sure to grease the pin very well. I also took apart the other side and greesed that as well. The rear shes were in great shape (only 60K on the truck). So I did not change them. Anyway, thanks to all. My ebrake has never worked so well. Front breaks are next.
