um...a comment and a question.

In my toyota book it lists both the ngk and the densos in the plug section of the book.

question....I also read that you should replace the plugs with 2 prong plugs, and I think the irridiums are one prong, does anyone see this to be a problem and why do they call for 2 prong plugs....it's in the manual as well

thanks

Joe

They did that in all the v6 from like 2001 to atleast 2004. The factory did it for no apairent reason. Ngk bought out denso there is no difference in the two plugs other than the name. You guys that rant and rave about the iridiums. Lots of bull you will never tell a difference in the regular plug and the iridium. Might gain 5 horsepower max and when you turn on your a/c you kill 10 ponies to the rearwheels and you dont tell that do you. The compressor sucks some ponies yes. And you never new it did you. So put regular plugs in and change them when recommended and have a better running truck for a cheaper price. But hey I just build race engines and I dont know anything. That is my two cents

Thanks for all the replies. I think I said I didn't notice a performance gain and I don't remember anybody "ranting and raving" about the plugs. Just that they're smooth running and very expensive. redtacoma31, I don't know why you had to post the way you did, but I'm glad to know that next time I replace my plugs I can use regular ones because I know (and everyone else on this board)this guy that builds "race engines" and he say's that I don't need them! Thanks for the two cents. Jake

I like my denso Iridium, i didn't dyno it so i cannot say what hp change, but i have alot more top end, the main diff i noticed was i could only do about 99mph with a good tailwind downhill, and now she will run up to fuel shutoff at 110mph and easily. I also get a little more chirp out of the tires...my old plugs were the original changed at 35k, so they shouldn't have been unreasonably "dead", yes iknow that it is not unusual to get 5hp gain out of new vs dead plugs and wires...

just my thoughts

ps my celica i noticed less change, but i would say it runs smoother and idles better
