Wisc, sorry for the late reply. I also have the 34/78 but I mounted it conventional. There's not much room to use the side posts in this position & I've thought about changing it around. I just haven't gotten around to it. If you do mount it on it's side, let me know how it turns out. Bray

P.S. I really like it. It's taken a lot of use with the truck off with no problems.

brayboy , I had a similar experience with this dizzy blonde chick in white , full size Ford Bronco , that's when I decided to add dual(2) "Road Blaster" horns on my Taco . 1. Use the relay 2. Tap off of your factory horn (I left mine in place)to power the relay 3. Place the relay in a secure/dry location under the hood rather than ahead of the radiator . 4. Use 10 Gauge wire to power the horns thru the relay , directly from the battery 5. Put an inline fuse in the horns power connection and remember where you put it 6. Crimp any terminals firmly and Weatherproof all electrical connections (liquid electrical tape works best for me) I mounted my horns up behind the front bumper , pointed at the road . FINALLY ! ! ! When activating the horns in defensive driving situations , extend your arm out the vehicles window with your middle finger pointed at the sky and the rest of them drawn tightly against your palm . This is a Universal Hand Siginal used by "knowledable" drivers everywhere that means , " Don't worry , I have the situation under control " and makes your horns sound twice as LOUD to the "offender" . Many times the other driver will return the "gesture" as a courtesy Thanking you for your "advanced" defensive driving skills and thoughtfulness . If they snarl ,exposing their teeth while doing so ; it means they've relalized how bad they'ed - UP ! Angry with themselves ffor their carelessness they vow to be more careful in the future. Often , other drivers in traffic upon seeing his gesture , will start tooting their horns in approval of your "savy"also . I've witnessed this many times in my travels , especially on Roosevelt Blvd . ( U.S.-1) here in Philadelphia during rush hour and can personally attest to it's effectiveness . OH....... and if you look in your rearview mirror and see the offending vehicle following you to your destination , don't worry ; they probabaly just to find out what kind of horns you have on thay "little" truck , where you bought them and how you wired them up . Then again......he may just want to thank- you for alerting him to the dangerous situation in person . P.S.: If you want a good inexpensive substituite for aftermarket horns , go to any bone yard and salvage a couple off of a Buick .

I'd use the relay, reason being an aftermarket horn is likely going to draw more amps and could burn up the horn wire, or blow your fuse. The relay is really easy. One wire to ground, one to always hot, one to the switch, and one to the horn, I assume the other terminal on the horn should be atken to ground.
