Default Finished Deckplate Mod!

Hey guys, I just finished my deckplate mod! Looks good and was easy. The hardest part was cutting the hole out of the air box. I used my dremel, but if you guys do it you might want to rack you're brain and see if anything else would work better. Skill saw? Anyways, I've got to run some errands so I'll tell you guys if I feel a difference.

Hey, I feel a little difference. Not a lot, but some. There is a little deeper tone, and a little more umf! Good thing to do overall though. I just hope my gas mileage doesn't get any worse.

It might actually take a little while for your trucks computer to get used to the extra air and compensate for it. I unplugged the neg. terminal on my battery for a while, then hooked it back up when I was done, to reset the computer. The truck kinda drove like crap for a day, then once everything was recalibrated it was great. I def. felt a difference, although it wasn't much.

laters...dan

was wondering what size hole did you use for your deck mod? or what do you recommend size hole for a v-6 for the best performance?

Sniper, Danny is right. Disconnect and reconnect your neagative battery terminal (I suggest doing this on most any mod where electrical or ECU or emissions are concerned). As tD01 stated, the ECU will immediately start resetting itself after the mod and reconnection of power. Bray. P.S. Good post Danny! I used a 4 inch deckplate. I think any bigger than this would be too big. Where in Hawaii are you from? I was stationed on Oahu for almost 3 yrs. I was a Marine there. I didn't think I would ever say this, but I really miss it there. The reason I say that I didn't think I would ever say that is because you could never drive off the island! LOL. I felt like I was stranded a lot of times. My wife and I plan on retiring there when we get old.
