Default Newbie needs advice on new Tacoma

I'll be buying a new Tacoma soon, XtrCab,V6 4WD, manual with OF (offroad) options package. also want pwr windows, locks, & a/c. What other options would be recommended. I don't plan to do too much serious offroading, mostly getting in and out of remote areas for hunting, fishing, with about 90% use on the road.
Also, how much below MSRP, should I be looking to pay. I'll be buying it in southern Arizona. Did have an email quote from a New Hamshire dealer that was below invoice, it that possible?
thanks for any help!

Default Re: Newbie needs advice on new Tacoma

I bought an 01 Tacoma, Xtra Cab, V6, 4WD, Limited with the TRD package, and all the bells and whistles including CD player in the spring of 2001. Mine also has the factory rear locker although I haven't needed it yet. It's my daily driver, so it doesn't see much more than dirt roads and an occasional open trail. I keep the abusive stuff for my Jeep. It sounds like you hit on the main options.

Anyway, I paid $1,500 under invoice and got 4.9% Toyota financing. The dealer had several Xtra Cabs and at the time everyone wanted the double cabs so they were willing to deal. Most dealers will go well under the invoice price, especially like in my case when they have more vehicles than they can handle. The key to good negotiating is to be willing to walk away if they wont come down.
