Hello folks
Just wondering if anybody can tell me whats in the 95.5 Taco 4 cylinder, a timing belt or chain? Second of all, when is it due to be changed? How many miles? My old man's 4x4 4cyl truck has 245Km or (145K miles) and its never been touched. he asked me today, but my truck has the 22R-E and isn't the same. Can anybody give me the scoop? What happens if they are left alone, and not touched? Thanks guys. Rembrant
The 4 cyl. Tacos have chains. 100,000mi. is usually no problem on a chain. I don't know of any problems with the Taco motors, but the 22REs have a problem with the chain guides wearing to the point of breaking, causing the chain to rub the inside of the timing cover...and if left untouched, can actually rub through the cover.
