Question 3VZE timing

I've got a '92 4runner, just installed redone heads. Fires right up but has no power, full throttle in 4th gear and only 55 mph then any incline kills momentum. Is my cams out of time? Thought I had marks aligned good, had to remove timing cover again anyway to fix cam seal leak, drivers side, don't put too much RTV around seal it can plug oil drain hole under front of cam and force oil out. Lesson learned. But still after belt installed and cam gears aligned with marks, starts right up but no power. A little rough idle, vaccum hoses installed correctly, precaution had injectors serviced...head on passenger side had burnt exh. valve...This is a reman. motor with 50,000 on it when I overheated it, my fault for not fixing that little thermo. leak and keeping an eye on water level. 4runner has over 300,000 on body, rear window is manual now. Also can't get fuel filter on frame rail to break loose to change, feels like metal line going to rip, any hints?

I'd check the TPS first, and see if you have any codes in the computer.....

But yes, getting the valve timing set on the 3.0 is a major pain, the marks are so far from the cam sprockets it's real easy to mess it up....

Can you turn cam gear and feel when it's on peak of lobe or something like that? and around visual marks. Don't want to do over after this.

There are marks for the cam timing, but they are sort of far away fromt he sprocket which is one of the problems, the other I recall is getting the cams to stay put as they are opening valves where the timing marks are, and they want to spin off on their own. It's been a while since I did that, but I do remember it being a pain. I don't think you need to pull the valve covers again, but drain the coolant etc. Have you checked compression? that may give you a clue.

On the fuel filter, if it's not budging, you will just have to soak it in penatrating oil... and wait... Also get the right flare wrench for the job if you dont' have it already, it makes a world of difference.
