When I did my body lift a few years ago I found it very easy to remove all the bolts from one side at a time. I then stacked cement block on the ground underneath it and put a floor jack on top of them to lift the body up. I used poly bushings between the block and body and it made a WORLD of a difference. My old truck had just block with no bushings not sure why...but it rode like a wheel-barrow.

I just did one side at a time with a 4x4 on end, on top of a floor jack.
You leave the bolts lose untill you do the other side...... But it didnt really move at all anyways.

That was for a 4crawler 3"

I think I had to use the cement blocks because my jack didn't go high enough...It was sitting pretty high and the jack topped out so I need more height.

Hey guys,
It's been awhile since my last visit and lots have changed with the Runner, with no end in sight.
It started out like this:

To this:

In Action:

Stretching her Legs:

Next on the list is a front bumper and winch, then some sliders and the fiberglass front fenders.

HOLY dog darn, piece of rats droppings.
5 fawking hours total to get one damnnnn fitting in. even bought 2 new ones from toyota.
it is the centering cylinder/bolt thing. damnnn thing would thread in backwards. but not forwards no matter what. cleaned threads on both sides. no tap. finally I gave up. beat the damnn thing in with a hammer for a few hits then put the impact on it for 1/16th inch about 1.5 turns. I hope it don't leak. if so, going to just get a new steering box and retap it.

fawk that took all the fun out of the day.

am. went and picked up a really cool cub cadet mower with deck and blade. 6 speed transmission ran fine. oh it is old like 1969 or 70.
got my hair cut. picked up two coolers for the power steering pump for our hydro's. got home cut a few chunks of steel for the wifes bumper. went and got my two new bolts for the steering box. could not get them to start. worked on threads in the box some more. worked on the bolt threads.
just could not get it to catch.. yet turn the plug cylinder thing around and it would go in with my fingers. thread it back and forth about 300 times but it would not start in the correct direction.......... MR SMASHY and impacted it in. seemed to grab what ever and went in about 1/16 inch.. hope that it holds. didn't get shait done on the bumper or lift..
then it dawned on me how cold I was and how cold and windy it had gotten.

cold water felt warm washing my hands.
