| | How can we make the forum better? The change over to VBulletin software is scheduled to take place hopefully around Feb 2nd. With the changes taking place it will take a little getting used to getting around again since it will be a totally different style. Here is a sample of what it should look like, this is just a link to vbulletins forums but you get the idea.
So with the new software coming I will be making some changes to try to get us back to the way the board used to be back in 2000 or around then, all you old timers remember how busy the board used to be, you could post a message and within 15mins have a reply.
What I want to know is what type of changes do you want to see to make it better? With VBulletin it has a feature for sub-forums basically or a "child" forum so they call them. Some ideas would be to have Topics for each forum such as "For Sale" "General truck talk" "Custom Suspension" "Drivetrain" "Off Topic" etc...
These are all in the planning stages but by organizing each sub-section and posting in the required sections the forum with not only look and feel better it will attract more attention I believe.
So here is your chance to submit ideas, anything is a good idea. The only thing stupid is YOU if you didn't mention your idea! So let me hear what you all think and we will see what we can do to change things around some...you know Gnarls must want revenge to ?x?wire.com still hahahaha! So lets make it happen! Also if you have any ideas or photos for write-ups or want to volunteer for editing write-ups please let me know. I would like to see new monthly updates for write-ups and more readers rides photo shoots etc...these constant updates are what will make people come back again to see if there are any changes or news.
Thanks for your input in advance! |

Or is that just me?
Also, less moderators!!!! and more smileys!!! |

Vbulletin offers a "quick reply" box at the bottom of the forum page, not sure if it will be turned on but we can ask for it. I find that feature pretty useful as well just for the above reason...specially if your replying to more than one thread and forget which one your on now! |

I can't think of much really....except I'd like to see 150x150 pixel avatars allowed. I change mine alot when I'm bored, and every other forum I hang out on is 150x150.
I know a lot of the other forums I'm on (but not all) have another line below your location saying what your vehicle is, just so when you post a reply, people can see what y'all are driving. Just a thought.
Pictures and videos section, or member's rides gallery?
I'll keep thinking |

| | Re: How can we make the forum better? I'm not taking over Chads position, he is still admin however since he isn't around too much I will be doing a lot of stuff over here now.
OK so here is a sample post of the new software, as you can see there is the quick reply window at the bottom...On the left under my name where is says "member" you can put your custom nicknames/title or other message if you like.
I don't think it does old timer, newbie, and all those sayings but I could be wrong...It does show the dates you joined on the left, not sure if we all need to start from square one yet it depends on how the x-fer goes.
The search feature actually works on Vbulletin too!
I like the ideas of Events, Readers Rides pics and stuff so far, Not sure if we can host video here but we can make a section and host somewhere else w/links. Keep the ideas coming. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
