IMO a seperate OT section within this section will further seperate the posts and make it seem "dead-er" in here.....

I agree. I know that most of the time I am an OT :censored::censored::censored::censored::censored: ( per se ) and for that I appoligize. In the golden and olden days this forum used to have a ton of new members all the time with tons of questions. Not so much anymore.
I look at this forum as a bunch of guys who get together occasionally online with Toyota trucks in common but when there aren't any major questions or issues we still come here for some "idle" chit chat.
Most of the issues and problems that most guys have with their trucks can be resolved by a couple members responses and they get the right answer. The wealth of Toyota knowledge on here is incredible. Sooo, the moral of the story is that most threads don't get all that long ( minus the Weber and "how to get stuck wheels off") and we run out of other things to talk about. As such, OT threads keep this thing going.
Everything from Cavers back, Missourimans weather, Rembrants crazy Canadian travels, 2ndGen's Remodel tips, Yodta's wacky camera antics, Ratty's electron microscope picture of the backs of eyes, and who can forget the search for spinnerman for Gnarls.. I could go on but you all get the idea.
One suggestion that would help is to have the form details on each member to make them fill out a form with the year, vehicle type and engine. Perhaps if it's a daily driver or combination DD and 4-wheel, or if it's just a trailer queen, etc. Many people posts questions about something and they don't post what type of engine they have??

Nothing against the other mods, they've been awesome as moderators... and my hats off to them for allowing this site to be what it is.
Mud, I am glad to see you are being active and want to make things better if we can. You will do a great job and congrats!! If I can be any help, let me know.

Maybe an OT section that's in this forum, not a general OT forum in the main index of forums like there already is.... I never visit that cause I want to hang out with people I know, and have come to tolerate!
Edit: Oh bloody hell, where'd my avatar go now!?!?!?!?!
Thanks gNARLS! The best part about this is you can do it from home

Yup that's how I feel too...this is basically what I had in mind for O/T...Just to keep the rest of the posts clean and about the trucks or other mechanical stuff.
I agree with 2toy, this forum seems these days a place for a bunch of long time posters to chat a bit, sometimes deal with Toyota problems or mods that we have, and once in a while drop some helpful hints to some new users or those out there who are just in need of a quick answer to a common problem.
I know when I was first looking for a place for Toyota info I just hit a gold mine when I found this board. So much knowledge available if you just ask, and right at the start I of course had my share of 'must solve now' problems that got help right away. It was and is just awesome. Over the years there have definitely been some interesting discussions and a lot of tolerance learned too, something that i think is pretty cool and don't always find out there in the real world, or online for that matter. I wouldn't want to see the dynamics of this board change much except to get busier with questions and so on.
I am not a regular poster these days but still try and put in a helpful two cents if I see a question I know something about and it is nice to come and read the OT posts too. I think dividing the board up into sections that you would have to link to would really chop up the board and peoples interest in it.
Some things I would like to see though are easier ways of posting pictures right into the post and adding text in between. Right now the process is too complicated. I bet we might get a few more posts with peoples trail pics, descriptions and so on.
Darn it, just tried to upload a really cool pic from a trip last weekend and it was too big. I don't have a photo program that can manipulate file or image size loaded onto my computer at the moment.
Speak for your self and speak softly. Im still having prblems I popped to exaust studs out the other day. I plan on getting a new head from ebay and taking mine and having it rebuilt and setting it in my back room incase. I have a new question that I will post up if anyone has any info please chim in.
Just to keep you guys updated we are looking around the 22nd or so for the update to happen...the URL/Link for the forum itself will probably change but the domain will still be off-road.com. The link will most likely be forums.off-road.com so if you all have your favorites marked you may want to keep that in mind in case you can't log in. Also if you go to the Toyota page then click Trucks/SUVS to get to here I would like to mention that the web pages may have dead links for a little while...Keep in mind these guys are updated the entire ORC website to be in compliance with the software upgrade so lots of pages will need link updates. If you see a dead link drop me PM and I can inform them.
