Yes we will. I would have been in over my head on this one, so I opted to take it in.
I called them at 3:30 today and that is when they told me they thought they would have to pull the transmission but would investigate a way to get the bearing cap off w/out pulling it.
I never heard back from them by closing time. I certainly hope they can find a way, but in the end if they must pull the transmission their will be a silver lining.
1)rear main seal will get replaced.
2)I'll get fresh transmission fluid
This started out reasonable in terms of cost. $690 for a bearing job.
Then it went up to $800 for using Toyota select fit bearings. Now who knows what labor for pulling the tranny will be. I'm holding out a glimmer of hope that they can find a way to do it w/out pulling the tranny.
