Not sure if you misunderstood eme, let me clarify.
The 89+ rear spring are 2" longer in the front and 1" longer in the rear than 88 & older rear springs. A small gain, and possibly not worth the effort.
BUT.... Consider this!
Turn the 89+ rear spring around, making it 28" from the front of the spring to the center pin. This means you would move the front hanger 6" forward like you want. Then you would move the shackle hanger forward about 6-8" and use a folding shackle for great droop. The main consideration here would be pinion angle with the change in arc of the spring.

Actually, I was looking at the front half measurement of the 89-95 rear springs (22.5") and the front half measurement of the front springs (22.5"). Since they are the same, the shackle hanger would have to be moved rearward about 6" and the front hanger used in the stock location. This would keep the axle approximately in the stock location but you would gain 6" of spring length.

Ok, I though we were still talking rear here.
That could work, but that is where my numbers disagree Actually, the measurement on 89+ rear springs on the front works out to move the axle forward right at 1" or 1/2" from the stock front axle location. I know my math does not show this, So I guess I got my numbers crossed somewhere. Let me double check my numbers, and I will post them again.
Also, there is a limit to how far back you can locate your springs hangers. With the 88 & older rear springs up front in mine, I am real close to having to build an extension to the frame to mount them, since that is right where the frame moves out. Take a peek & you will see what I mean.
