Default FJ60 or FJ80? Which should I buy?

I'm looking to replace my 85 4Runner with something that has four doors. I was thinking about buying a 60 or 80 series Land Cruiser but I'm not sure which would suit my needs ( city driving, weekend camping and four serious off road trips per year. I was thinking about a 91 or 92 Cruiser or something from the mid 80's. Advantages or disadvantages for both? Gas mileage? reliability? How does a baby car seat work in the back seat? Any advice would help.

Thanks,

Brett

Brett
I have a FJ80 the room is great and the power is good, its no corvette but it will get you around, the gas mileage is about average of 13mpg which is bad but im looking into a part time transfer case and hopping it will help with the mileage, There are some good aftermarket parts for the FJ-80 and the FJ-60 and 62 they are all good if you want some power find one with a v-8 conversion, you can find them they are out their, if i were to do it again i would buy a FJ55, i found one with 1 ton axles and a v8 which to me would be a pretty in vinceable combo, hey also my insurance somehow went down after i bought the fj80, its also great in the sand, good luck and stick to Toys

Seems to me the Power to weight ratio favors the FJ62. The FJ80 seems awful big and heavy. Just one factor among many that you have to consider.

Read what happened to me when I bought a Toyota. Buy a Land Rover. At least you will know that it's supposed to break down!
