Experinece with 2B and 3B engines (disel) on BJ-44

Hello!
Does anyone have any experinece with operating LC with these engines? Can anyone give me spesific comments/suggestions/what to look for on these engines? How well do they perform?
I have some ideas about disel engines in general.
As I have found out the TLC that I am planning to get is an '81 BJ-44 (that's a little bit longer wheel base than FJ/BJ-40/42). It has disel engine - 4 banger, it's 2B ( 3168cc) or 3B (3431cc) - I don't know which one yet. It has 90,000 mi on it (140,000 km).
I plan to start a web site dedicated to my TLC search. When I launch, I'll post the URL.
