2f or 3f engine

this is my 1st time in the forum.. but i would like to thank all for the effort here and for all the info .
i have an fj60 that i have just bought 6 month ago with a 2f engine and a pretty good shape and iam totally rebuilding it nowadays.. so i have 2 qestions, 1st which engine is better 2f or 3f .. i go to the desert quite alot since here in egypt there is alot of place you can go, my 2nd qestion is .. are there any tips or modification that i need to do since the car is in a phase to do anthing in
