Default Cage or Roll-bar for FJ40

Hello fellow Cruisers,

I have an FJ40 project that I need to get going. I bought it with a hard top, and no roll bar.

I don't know if I should simply put in a roll bar, or if I should spend the extra money and put in a Roll Cage.

Any advice from experienced Land Cruiser owners?

I don't plan on doing anything to extreme with it, but would like to have something there both for protection, and looks.

Thanks,

-DZ

Yes Yes Yes go with a full cage, there not that much to have made if you do not weld. I have a 1972 fj40 and run a full cage that enables it still to acept the stock hard top. I alaways start out saying I wont get extreme, and I always end up doing crazy things!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the advice wickedmagguy. I would love to Fab my own cage, but my skill level isn't there yet. Do you have any recomendations of manufactured cages out there, or a Fabricator you like.

Having a cage that will allow for the hardtop will be ideal.

I am still a big fan of BTB Products for the Land Cruiser. Excellent design.

I have installed a couple of their cages and sliders in the past and their stuff is stout. It is one of the best fitting kits I have worked with. If you don't have the time to design and bend your own, this is the way I would go.
