Removing roof of 45L landcruiser

I am a biologist and at work we have 4 Toyota landcruiser pickups. I am guessing from descriptions that they are 45L's since they are a small pickup with a square bed with the big tie down hooks and removable roof and windshield that folds down. How do you remove the roof and fold down the windshield?? I see the two knobs that you must undo to get the windshield to fold but I just see tons of bolts all the way around the top of the roof. We use these in the middle of summer in Kansas so I would love to be able to make them a little bit cooler.
Any help will be much appreciated.
