Cruiser Trouble.....

I have an '87 cruiser and it has been acting up lately. Whenever it has been sitting around for a few hours and I start it again it dies after about 30 seconds. Then after another 3 min I can start it agian then it dies after 30. After a few minutes go by like this, I get it started and it runs fine for the rest of the time. I don't know whats wrong with it and I is really upsetting me. Does anyone know what could cause this? It's an '87, manual, unleaded gas, manual choke. Please help.

My 72 FJ40 had a problem with the gas draining back to the tank after sitting. It became a real problem when it was driven in the winter here in Minnesota as things start very slowly when cold. The solution was to put an electric pump in it. I would put a clear gas filter just before the carb and watch for air bubbles after starting it.
