FJ40 headers

I recently bought a Manafre one piece header for my '78 FJ40. Does anyone know of an easy way to mount the header so that you get the proper torque across the face of the factory intake and header since the header does not have the recess for the bolt heads as does the intake?

One guy I knew cut washers in half to fill the recess on the intake. I have headers on my 76 40 but didn't do that, I just bolted them on. Over the years (20 ) I started blowing the gasket at the exhaust ports so I just added an extra gasket.
