Default Putting a BRAT chassis under a VW Bug

Hello,

I have a totally trashed BRAT (No glass, dented and rusted) that has been sitting. It is the first gen with the single range 4x4 transmission.

I was thinking... I was going to build a sandrial out of it, but it turns out times are tough for me, so rather than putting several grand into tube steel, why not put the running gear under a VW beetle?

I've already unbolted all of the running gear from the BRAT, it's just a shell right now.

My thoughts are:
It has the EA-71 engine and the single range 4 speed. I need the EA-81 engine with the dual range transfer case w/ 4 speed.

Of course, I need a VW beetle w/ out the tranny or motor...

I was thinking, it may be possible to cut out the sheet metal out of the BRAT that just holds the running gear and fabbing it into the VW beetle. I am very good at fabricating, and I think an AWD beetle would be pretty cool.

Thanks for the review - I've been looking at them as well. Good luck with your system, it looks to be coming along pretty well.
