Question beadlocks?

im lookin for some black daytona beadlocks for my gmc sierra im curious how to tell if rims are true beadlocks or fake street locks i found some by allied wheel but it dont truly say that threr true bead locks. how can u tell and why are they not dot aproved

Daytonas are fake, the allied are probably real. a bead lock rim has a ring on the out side that bolts down and clamps the tire to the rim. there are not DOT approved because if the bolts came loose the would deflate or if they broke it would be a instant flat with a metal ring rolling next to you on the freeway. not to mention its very hard to get a good balance out of true beadlocks. people do run them on the street thought, I have, and with all the fakes out there the cops cant tell anymore!
