I posted my '73 Scout in the classifieds some time ago. So far, I've gotten 4 contacts, and 3 of them were scammers - the scam where they send you a "certified check" for more than the sale price and you're supposed to deposit the check and send back the difference. By the time your bank finds out the check's no good and charges you you're out of luck. A lot of these scammers operate out of Nigeria, but they could be anywhere.

This is one of the oldest Scams online, unfortunately. Almost all are from international offers - either to buy or sell. DON'T. Unless you can meet the person in person and see cash in hand, you are risking it. Money Orders can be forged or drawn on bogus accounts. If you can't see the bike or the money in person, get someone you trust in the area to help you out.
