Just checked in with the youngster. He is currently in N Dakota which I always though was a non existing place. I never knew anyone from there, saw marker plate from there, or knew anyone who had even gone there. Now I know. Anyway he is doing well. Seemed a little tired but is doing OK. Says he has about 700 more miles to go to get there. Jim

Just got off the phone with him and it sounds like he's about 10 minutes from the border. Shouldn't be long 'til he's crossed into the dark side (if they let him in).
Anyway, that would put him just about an hour from us. Looks like Longzuk and his wife will give him a bed to sleep in tonight, then it's another 10 hour drive to get to Saskatoon tomorrow where he'll meet up with Kevin and pick up his prized possession.

The roads and highways around here are extremely icy! Tell Brent to be really careful, and budget tons of time once he gets to the bad conditions. Some first day of spring, we got 5cm-ish of snow today, and its not supposed to let up till wednesday. The streets are polished, I dont know about the highways, but dont expect much better. You could phone the dept of highways here to ask about the conditions in the morning.

Driving treacherous across Sask.
Snow, icy roads and high winds were combining to make driving conditions treacherous in many parts of the province Monday.
The Saskatchewan Highways Department was recommending against travel in areas around Regina, Saskatoon, Weyburn and Kindersley. Some highways in those areas were covered with ice and subject to reduced visibility.
There were also ice-covered roads and highways reported in the Moose Jaw, Wynyard and La Ronge areas.
The Trans-Canada Highway was snow covered and slippery in many sections.
Drivers were being told to watch for drifts, blowing snow and swirling snow behind other vehicles.
Environment Canada issued a heavy snowfall warning Monday afternoon for Moosomin, Carlyle and Estevan. The areas were expected to receive 10 to 15 centimetres.
