Thanks fellas. Looks like I am staying around here for a little longer.

The trip so far hasn't been too exciting. A youngster did try to park his blingin' VW on my trailer in chicago. Maybe he wanted a free ride, I'm not sure?

I'll check back later. Thanks to all that have called or PM'd.

Just checked in with the youngster. He is currently in N Dakota which I always though was a non existing place. I never knew anyone from there, saw marker plate from there, or knew anyone who had even gone there. Now I know. Anyway he is doing well. Seemed a little tired but is doing OK. Says he has about 700 more miles to go to get there. Jim

Hey now you are talking about my neck of the woods now.... There are a few people there. And yes we are driving cars now. We still keep a few horses in the stable just in case though.

Man, does he have cell service up there? I hesitate to call him as he said it will be like 1.50 per minute on his plan when roaming. I hope if anything happens he can call if needed.

Not to mention talking on the phone while driving on dangerous roads isn't a real good idea either....

Hope he stays safe.....

Most of his trek will be across Prairie farm country. Cellphone service should be fine for most of this trek. There will certainly be pockets where the signal is low but the route he is taking is well travelled and the folks in the country are generally very helpful. I wouldn't be too concerned with him being stranded if anything happens. I'm more concerned with the road conditions as they are likely to be very slick today and the highway is only two-lanes-divided with no median.

However Brent seems like a very level-headed guy and I'm sure he'll be cautious.

Kevin, has the weather improved at all your way?

That's good to know, Ray, thanks. Yeah, he's a sharp guy, he'll be fine. I'm surprised he's making such good time, too!

Yep today its about 0 with no wind, and no new snow. The Samurai is melting off again, and all the city streets are sloppy, so I imagine the highways are improving.
Yesterday was nasty windy and cold, today isnt so bad, but he'll still need to use caution on the highways. Cell service will be no problem.
