Default Steve\'s build UP

He's getting close.
With the Dana 3oo adpter and clocking ring there will be NOTHING hanging down lower then the frame rails except the drive shafts and they will be protected by a set of traction bars!

How much does this change the balance of the rig? Won't it be way front heavy now?

Front axle is moved forward about 6 inches.

Plus the rear is moved back 10 inches.

Total wheel base is around 97 to 98 inches, with a belly height of 21" to the lowest point.(That's with 33 x 1250's for now) It's my first real build up(if you could call it that), so the jury is out as to how well it performs.

our first year at the melt there was a dude with a caddy mill in his rig that was close to 500HP. He was (amazingly enough), running stock sami axels under it and 35" swapmers and wasn't afraid to lean on it. Other than blowing a rad. hose doing burnouts in the dunes, it seemed to hold up well.

I'm running toy axles....Hopefully, they will hold up pretty well since I am running an automatic.(Less driveline shock)

That guy must have been real lucky. I know a guy who went through several hubs and 7 axles in his samurai with 33" boggers over last 2 years. He ended up going back to 30" tsl's to avoid all the breakage.
