| | Re: Any intrest in a Bolt On drop down Tail Gate Kit? Guys, it is time for you to meet my buddy Stephen, finally. In addition to his Samurai (w/1.9td that needs to get done) he has a GMC Tracker. When he is on-call, the Tracker doesn't get driven for a week at a time. I am sure you could figure it out in a week. |

| | Re: Any intrest in a Bolt On drop down Tail Gate Kit? I want see pics of the hinges and hardware. How about a pic of it closed. Doest it fit up and tight when closed. Are ther any gaps around the gate that we should be aware of it. Gaps that would allow water to enter, or does a stock soft top snaps still align with the top afterwards? More pics please, attention to details is needed. |

| | Re: Any intrest in a Bolt On drop down Tail Gate Kit? Flexmonger,
The tailgate is in the stock location when closed, and will not allow any more water in than your current set up...the tailgate closes tight against the stock seal. here are some pictures of the hinges and hardware installed, the TG closed and open. hope they help

| | Re: Any intrest in a Bolt On drop down Tail Gate Kit? Great minds think alike----
Just need to find extra hinges as the kit uses the originals relocated to the bottom of the gate.
On my prototype, when swinging the gate open to the side, the bottom hinges (the ones that the pins are removed on for dropping the gate down) did not always align properly. The gate had to be wiggled for them to re allign. ---Still working on that. |

| | Re: Any intrest in a Bolt On drop down Tail Gate Kit? Just curious - when it a the swinging gate a better option than the flip-down tailgate? Maybe lifting a load into the back but you can just set it on the gate and slide it in. I am just looking forward to not having the huge swing space needed for the swing-out gate. Even if I had a swing tire carrier ( so would be stuck with the big-swing space) the drop-down wouldn't be a disadvantage - not sure if it has an advantage at that point, but not a disadvantage. |

| | Re: Any intrest in a Bolt On drop down Tail Gate Kit? The dropdown extends the bed that much more. Gives you a work bench when the inside of your rig is loaded----Lunch---Camp stove...
Place to sit and rest while digging yourself out of a mudhole.
Tire carrier could be made to open in less space than a tailgate. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
