I have been searching and can't find enough info. I am interested in doing the corolla carb swap but need some more info gathered.
I remember a while back there was someone that said it worked really well. I think the year was around 78, anyone know? Engine size the carb was from?
I would like help in all the specific areas... anything need to be modded, aquired, etc. My carb has a serious flat spot in it and it is one of the things on my list to fix...
Thanks in advance, I am going to keep searching, Brent
Hay brent I used a 74 carb from Auto Zone it was around $110.00.They are really hard to find in junk yards any more die to most of them have been crushed. The hardest thing about the mod is the fuel in let hose barb, it is a funky thred pattern but with a little thought you will be able to make it work I will take a Pic of my throttle linkage set up that I used it is a little different then north coast set up but so far it seems to work pretty well.
Yep it fits on there perfect just had to flip the air box stud upside down you will see when you look at it, or you can just use a longer stud no biggie.
we have got shitloads of those corrolas here in oz me and my bro use to own a few of them!! so is this conversion better than a weber? cause im runnin 1 on my 1.6 now and its a pita!!!!!!!!
with the 1.6 I am not shure if it will work for you just double check before you do it. I have never had a weber so I can't really help with the is it better part but so far so good.
I put the Toy carb on my 86 about a month ago. easy install. Not sure how it would work on the 1.6 though. Mine was a rebuilt off of a 78 Corolla in Arizona. try car-parts.com. there were probably 10 listed there last I checked. PM me with any other questions. I don't know if it's a performance gain over a Weber, I doubt it, but is sure is easy to work on and is better than the stocker. JEff
