i just hope this is right. and the thing in the lower right corner is the switch.

Sorry that is not right, with that diagram you will have one light on, flip the switch, and it will shut off and the other one will come on. You need both lights on pin 30. If your lights draw more than 30 amps, you will need a relay for each light. I will explain it more if you like.

He's using a dual output type Bosch relay . Those have two outputs instead of one , each with 30a contacts .

That is only true with heavy duty relays. The ones they sale at most parts stores and department tores is a dual post/single throw. You are thinking about the dual post/double throw.
