Default Stupid(??) Susp question??

I have only one simple question that someone here might give me a opinion about.
To make a long story short,I ordered CJ springs(2" wide) from a vendor to put rear, but recieved 2,5" wide. Those are from a CJ rear, and after some removal of leafs i THINK it should work, but not sure.
The thing is the rear axle is already prepared for Spoa with 2" wide mounts on the axlehousing, and what about the wider springs??
Do i have to cut them of and weld new 2,5" wide mounts on,or is it ok with the 2" mounts?
Maybe enough with some "extra plates" welded on the housing to get proper widht,or what??

Ok,the best thing maybe is to get CJ rears in back, but DONT HAVE TIME to wait, took me 3 months to get this ones!!
Have a pair of CJ rears, but want to put them up front instead.

PLEASE give me some idea or opinion,i are in desperate need of some "second opinion"!!!

Best regards....Anders from Sweden.

Bolt ya springs on. With 2" pads your only talkin a 1/4" hang on each side. You'll never know a differance.

Aren't the 2.5" springs the YJs? I thought all the Cj's were 2". Jim

They sent you rear springs, you needed fronts.
I don't know the difference in length but the width won't work.

Save yourself the trouble and send them back or trade them.
You can use them, but you'll need to cut and replace your front spring hanger with a 2.5-inch one, and have a custom shackle in the rear.

It can be done, but will require custom parts, head scratching and maybe some trial and error.

If your going to go to a wide spring, go yj's.

Thanks for the replys!!
First about the spring hangers,i am going to weld new hangers in place and cut the old ones, not use the old ones.
Why??Because the regulations here don´t allow me to do major replacement of the chassiecomponents if i want to use it legaly on the road sometimes. And if i do a clean welding and it LOOKS standard,it´s much easyer to get it "trough the system"...what they dont see and know about dont hurt them...Missing links and bolt-on hangers looks more aftermarketparts than welded hangers and standard-type shackles.Therefor is the problem with wider springs not a big issue. But my concerne was the wideness of the axlemounts, but as mentioned,it´s only 1/4" smaller than the springs on each side, maybe not harmful??

And simply cant wait for another 2-3 month to get replacement springs, want and must get it togheter soon!

Also, the YJ:s is 2,5" wide, and the CJ:s should(??) be 2".But this is Rancho CJ rear springs, don´t know if they are wider than stock CJ:s...?The YJ:s is recomended by many serious Suki offroaders, but this would be almost the same,or am i missing something??

The lenght of the rear Ranchos is the same as the front,so no difference in lenght if i use front or rear Rancho CJ springs.

Maybe the 2,5" rear CJ:s would be nice in Suki rear, wider springs is better for preventing axlewrap,or??

In front there should be CJ:s front spring with frameextension and new weld-on hangers.

But as i see it,there should not be any major problems other than replacing the hangers(must do that anyway).
And of course,i would never ever try to cut and weld the springs!!!

Best regards,Anders from Sweden.
