Axle lenght ?

Does anybody have the lenght of the rear samurai axle, before and after 1989 ? I am ordering a used axle and need to be sure it's the wide one... I can't measure mine now...

Rear samurai axle after 1989 (Wide axle) is four foot outside of end flanges (measured it).

Narrow axle must be about four inches less (guessing)

I just put a tape on a stripped 87 housing,47 1/2" flange
to flange.I wasnt aware that the late model housings were
wider.

I confirm 47 1/2 inch not the 48 inch i originaly said but the narrow axle is noticable shorter.

What are they from?

SJ410 and not a samurai maybe??

Yeh, thought Rui was refering to 410 / samurai axle varients, here in UK 410 are narrow samurai are all wide axle.

SJ413 also has a narrower axle, but is not the same axle as the 410 has.

Haha i seem to be undergoing enlightenmet again. (hapens to me every week here) I though the early 413 narrow axle was a 410 axle, whots different.

All I know is that the 413 axels are beefier, and i think they have different splines and lighter housing to.
