Default I am a happy feller!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! O/T

Just completed my welding course at the local Vo. Tech school. Passed on 6010, and 7018 stick all positions, Tig, and the mig all positions. Now Monday I go in for my certification test which if passed will approve me legitamately on the stick welder in all positions up to 3/4" steel. The test will be fun though, it will be 7/16" steel with 1/4" gap at the base filling a gap in 3 to 4 passes, overhead. Hope I pass it, might go find a new job that pays more... I have learned on a stick my whole welding career , even tho I swear by them, a MIG and TIG still provide better looking welds, but with much practice stick welds can chip-out pretty nice...Congrats and good luck!

Good luck on the test, I know some old timers that wont look at a mig and they will lay a bead with a stick just as nice as my mig.
I was welding with a buzz box at the age of 14 thats what dad had so thats what I learned on, now that I have my mig I rarley use the stick, But I dont think I can get rid of it. its always a reliable backup

Well latest news flash....I am now certified with the National Certification Bureau with the 7018 stick from 3/8 to 3/4 steel in flat, horizontal, and verticle positions. I almost had the overhead but there were a few undercut places they didn't like. O'well all is good anyway...Just wanted to spread the happy news. now you know what its time for????

Not sure, I need to see if anyone would be interested. Its still awfully cold at night for a tent. And most of us would want to camp there for a weekend of wheeling not just a day.
