What you said about getting flushed out at highway speeds.
The locker would only open up to let the chunk of metal out during a turn, when it differentiates.

If you need a locker, and don't care to run a detraoit ez-locker. Lorne has one for sale that is new in the box.
I have never run the ez-locker, but a buddy had one in a toy for 2-years with no problems.

Also, if it is a cross pin, I have extra short pins from the front end. I am wondering about the carrier bearing. That inner race was knurled and may be tweaked, but I just can't visualize why that would cause the pass side to slip.

Pull it out, bring it up and we'll go through it.

Geoff,
Your problem sounds exactly like mine, without the broken
axle. When I turn to the left, I get the gear teeth slipping
noise. RockRat recommended trying to straighten the axle
with chain and a bottle jack. I tried that and it cleared up
somewhat, but not entirely. I'm now in the process of cutting off the SPOA stuff to put on another axle housing.
What did you do to truss it? I was thinking of just welding some thick, 1" angle across the top.
