Default Rear window defroster, how many amps?

My Zuk came from the factory with a removable hardtop, and had a rear window defroster for the glass. The top is gone, but I still have the switch on my dash. I thought about using it for a cargo light. What kind of amperage will this switch take? What have some of you used it for?

Rear defroster on an 88.5 tintop carries a 15 amp fuse, so if you don't go too hog wild, cargo lights
shouldn't be a problem.

I need to reinstall my defrost since I switched harness lately. MyGreenich Can you tell me where your wires from your switch are going into the Harness? I need to find out so I can plug my old defrost back...But I don't know which wires on the Rag-top are for the Switch?

Thanks!

Moadib,
I will get out there today and find that for you. I need to trace them anyway. I'll email you when I get the info.
Brad

My defroster can barely clear around the wires much less the whole glass, even when it's not too cold. They all seem to heat a bit, could this be a ground problem? I cleaned the connector contacts on the window. thanks
