Default flipping stock rims for more offset

i'm planning on doing things as cheap as possible. i'm temporarily using a set of 235/75's on the stock rims after my homemade spoa and rear leaf up front project is done. This will be only for a few months until i can afford to regear, and get new rims and 33" tires.
anywayz, i was hoping that i could get some more offset by inverting the stock rims. i've heared of it being done but couldn't find any posts in the search.
if i welded the valve stem hole closed and drilled a new one on the other side, would i be able to run 235's no prob?
thanx

The rim is slightly concave. I tried this only to find it rubs on the caliper. You will need at least a 1/4" spacer to install it. It seems to be a pretty sturdy rim, but there is always a chance of risk. Good luck!

i had a rig i done this to i sold to bb and it worked fine on it but i didnt weldup the vaule stem holes i just put the vaule stem in backwards and drilleda new hole for the new one it gives a lot more offset but i would just wait till i got my new rims why ruin a set of rims you might need for spares its up to you mane it will put more strain on your bearings

actually.... i also have a parts truck with a set of chrome rims on it. so i'm not worried about this set!
i like the idea of flipping the valve stems though... i don't weld so i would have to get someone to do it for me, unless i do it that way!
