Default 4.3 in a sammy

I am trying to put a 1995 4.3 vortec into my sammy. So far I have it sitting in there already, but I wound up buying a transmission from a Sonoma. The problem is that I want to put in a manual trans in and I do not know which one I need. I put the sonoma trans in and it looks like the piston for the clutch is going to get in the way of the front differencial. I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction as to what tranny I need to get. I would appreciate any information you can give me and I thank you in advance for you time.
Thanks Will

Does anyone think Sammi axles would stand up to a V6 or V8 if it was only used off-road for mud and slippery stuff? My next job will most likely be in Florida, where mud is plentiful. I want a V8.

They hold up to the 4.3 V6 just fine. However, I would suggest against moving to Florida unbless you are transferring with a high paying job.

Why would you go with a standard tranny behind the 4.3? Yer cheating yerself out of gearing. Go with the 3 Chevy auto tranny.

I'm hoping Uncle Sam will be inviting me to stay for a few years. Cocoa Beach area. Only thing is I'll be living close to the ocean, and rust-central.

It's a great place to visit I'm sure, but I'm not happy about anything here except being able to keep a yard 365 days a year. My two cents from a transplanted Texan.
