Outback motor upgrade for overheating Wife has a '98 Legacy Outback wagon that has had overheating issues since wire let Jiffylube flush her radiator. I know, closed system, DO NOT OPEN, forget uselessly flush, but she did it any way. Started overheating. replaced radiator last year and it stopped, but has been overheating again. getting coolant checked for emissions gasses to indicate head gasket or cracked head or block. Worst case scenario, I need a new block, am I putting good money after bad getting the same motor? or has some issue been resolved at Subaru. Should/can I put a better motor in, with no trouble (I'll be paying someone else to do this) from a different year? Any other info? I know it's a lot but I don't know much about this car. Anyway, Thank Guys! -Johnny |
