If your going to do anything start with the clutch. You can get a clutch ket for about 300.00 that will have everything you need. With your head send it to Rich Daly at Dynoport. He may be busy so call ahead. Also keep in mind more than likey you will have to change the base gasket for the head. Don't even think about re-jetting unless your going to have a EGT guage. I am talking from experience here. Trust me a guage will save you money time and frustration. If you go with a clutch kit make sure you have your track studded!

hey, i think the best thing to do is to get some v-force reeds and air filters. I tested them on mine and it was awsome. Yeah a clutch kit works well to, but if you really want to get serious in the engine then i would suggest that you should port or even bore cylinders, also shaving the heads for more compression is recommended for porting. pipes are good to single is good for what you need it for, twins are just mainly for intence racing , it just gives you a lot more top end. well there's lots more but if you only want to sink in a 1000 then this would be it.
