All you need to do is lean back and don't let go of the gas.
If you want more speed on the water atleast have a one inch track.

i ride a 2002 zr 600 a few mods like a can and pistons and studs...but i love water crossing it when the lake starts to melt...its fun...but if u got studs it drags ya down some...the bigger the lug the better off you are...but i ussualy just do about 30 up to the water and romp on it and cruzie across doing about 70-90mph.and hopefully not sink...
and for the lame ppl who come in this place and trash watercrossers...go to hell...if u dont like it...fine..but u dont need to tell us that were stupid...maybe we think ur stupid for not doing it!!....(ur just panzys)

setup the suspension, culk ne holes in bulkhead and bellypan to prevent water from getting in, take off ur seat, take off nething that isnt needed for water 2 lighten it up, use a smaller gas can, tape up some of ur hood vents, take out the studs to lighten it up,if u got a 121 paddler and suspension laying around put that in insted of the 144. thats a little that will help u out i hope
