Default MSD for the 400EX?/Cam review tomorrow.

I know the MSD kit for the 400EX does, almost exist. Im able to find just bits and pieces of information about this kit. I emailed MSD about a month back for info. All they would tell me is that a official release date is in 8 weeks or so. Would any of you have any further info, which includes price, on the MSD kit for the 400EX. Thanks.
Also, the WB's all around cam I ordered will be installed in my 400EX and tested tommorrow. Those of you interested, check back here tomorrow night.

why would you want to put MSD on your quad? Your just asking for trouble, if you look at the track record of MSD in the automotive industry, it works great while it works but you wear out your ignition system so much faster , due to (Multiple Spark Discharge) that you have to mess with it ALL the time to keep it up to snuff

Hey Raptor Rider,

I dont know too much about MSD. I certainly understand your point though. More power to the coil could only lead to problems. Maybe the kit will come with its own coil?
Thanks for your input man. Anyone else have any comments?

No cam test this weekend. I gotta have the decompression device and all the other junk pressed off the XR400 cam and pressed back on the new cam. Nothing comes easy.

MSD is (Multiple Spark Discharge) it is a system that instead of firing your spark plug once, it fires it (not sure on a bike or quad) on a car its like 10,000 times, so the spark lastes longer and burns the fuel more thoroughly, giving it more power, (just like running high octain fuel) but with high octain fuel you have to have high compression or it wont all burn, and you loose power, not gain

Cool I Really Really Want One!!!!

"Enhancer fir Honda 400ex ... The MSD enhancer for the honda 400ex replaces the stock CDI and coil and allows you to optimize the ignition timing to get the most performance possible. Once your initial timing is set up you can alter the timing curve between 22 and 29 degrees with the dip switches instead of having to open up the engine to move the stator. The built-in hole-shot feature allows you to set a lower rpm limit when you're staged at the starting line of a race. This produces more conconsistent launches and lets you concentrate on the holeshot. The MSD produces a hotter spark than the factory ignition resulting in crisp throttle response, no starting line bogs and great top end power. The kit comes complete with the ignition, coil, 8.5mm super conductor spark plug wire and mounting hardware. Enhancer Kt for the Honda 400EX ...... PN 42130 (PN 05-10-42131)"
