I am looking to change out to a synthetic winch cable. It needs to hold at least 12,000 lbs. I know that most people would recommend the 5/16" Amsteel synthetic winch cable. However I would like to know if anyone makes a flat (webbing like) cable. I would like to keep about 100 ft. of cable in my drum but I don’t want the cable to be 5 layers high. If I could find a flat cable then I could put allot less strain on the winch by having only like a couple of layers (steel cable thickness layers) of rope on the drum.

Two Ideas where to look...
Moving supplies, or truck supply house.....I am thinking of the nylon web belt I see on flatbed trucks also on the moving idea they use the flat belts.....
I looked into boat winches and nothing is that strong....
In a boat yard I use they have them on cranes for big boat lifting....hope it helps
