Frontier flywheel

I have a 1998 Nissan Frontier 4x4 5spd. I am getting a lot of noise from my pilot bearing when I engage the clutch and am going to replace all clutch components here in the next few weeks. I have a question about the flywheel. I have tried to find a new flywheel online and see that in addition to buying a flywheel you can also buy a flywheel shim plate. This shim plate is designed to be the flywheel component that is replaced instead of the entire flywheel during a clutch repair. Did the factory flywheels on the 98 Frontier come with this replaceable shim plate or are they a solid flywheel. Also, if it is a solid factory flywheel can it be resurfaced or does it have to be replaced. Thanks for your help.
