Newbie from Wisconsin
My name is Doug and I live in SW Wisconsin 20 miles from the tri-states of Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin on the Mississippi river.
I joined this forum with the hopes of finding tech info on converting my 1959 Willys Truck drive line to host a Dana 44 front axle ( 3.07 to 1 ratio) that came from a 1976 Scout II.
With a built 327 engine I need a stronger running gear under the old Willys.
I have a built turbo 350 tranny and have not yet located the compatible rear axle assembly I will need and the transfer case as well. Any suggestions on which components are preferable would be appreciated.
Anyone with hands on experience with this particular transformation please feel free to contact me with all your insights and wisdom.
4 years ago we striped the already super clean body to bare metal and painted with base coat/clear coat to preserve the body. We are not afraid to go out in the brush and scratch the paint. ( Adds "patina" and character ).
