I've noticed that too when clay dries on tires. I guess is it's some chemical reaction between clay and rubber. We actually have some mud around here that's called <font color=blue>"blue clay"</font color=blue>. It's kind of gray-blue and very slick and slimy. When it dries, it's rock hard. The variety of mud at all the different tracks is interesting. Maybe I need to get a life, huh? <font color=purple>OH MAN! I've gotten into some of that "blue clay", although we didn't call it that. But, I know exactly what you're talking about. That stuff will NOT come off!!! The place we used to have that was North of Springfield, MO & it was always a real wet pit. Normally, I washed up there while it was wet & it always came right off. But, this one time I was in a hurry to get going & I had a trailer. So, I let it dry on the racer & did I ever have a time getting it clean again.</font color=purple>

I hear ya! Best to wash it off before it turns to cement. I love it when a race has a place to wash before you leave.

The Clay that Smallblock is refering to here in cen fl is usually in or around the swamps and is colored because of the decaying organisms in it...Or from all the drunk rednecks peeing in it! If this is the same stuff you got Tex, I feel your pain, it will ruin paint!

Back to cheese.....
