Default tips on running in mud events

Alway up foir a challenge, I am interested in running my 1.6 4.5" SPOA, RUFs and stock-geared Samurai in mud events that seem to pop up everywhere out in the country during the summer. I have some 31 x 10 M/Ts with not much tread left...

Where do I start? Is this a speed/traction kinda thing?

curious,

it depends how much mud do you plan on going in? and speed isnt the key as much as traction and some nice mud tires with agressive tread. a set of lockers in the mud realy help alot too. take it easy

check out our site in the signature below. We have a class just for stock 4-6cyl vehicles. Many "stock" sammy's do pretty good. As said above, gearing and tires are the most important thing. If you are low on power, get lower gears to turn make it easier to turn the tires. by keeping you engine stock, you maintain some relaibilty in the truck. Reliability is one thing that you want as well. unless you really like working on your truck!
