Default a good deal

I found a unimog only a 4 hour ride from my house
1974 404 with the gas 6 stick and good canvas
the picture looks good but my question is how do they fair on the highways as i do 27 miles a day to work on a pretty fast moving highway

Straight sixes usually suck on gas but does anyone have specific numbers and any other info would be appreciated

thanks in advance

i have found all specs. and info on 404 unimogs. simply by using yahoo search. not highway compatable.top speeds of 50 mph. also the best unimog 404s are swiss unimogs . they have been in concrete storage bunkers for like 30 years.i just looked at a 1963 swiss mog 404 with 20,000 kms on it.very nice.zero rust.there are hundreds of swiss mogs available.good luck. i think a unimog would be to much fun!

why be normal.

Just saw your post. I have a Swiss Uni 404. It will climb a tree but will only do 45 max. The newer ones will do a better clip. We treat ours like a farm equipment. Slow go on back roads.

That's the right side, but we have never been that far south in the Mog. We hang around Baxter on I-80, Blue Canyon, Moody Ridge, Culberson Rd. It's at 4000 - 5000 ft. We like to blaze trails in 3 - 6 ft of snow.

Just curious...how do you tell whether or not it is a Swiss mog?
