I need a schematic for a 69 Commando. Does anyone know where I can get one? It needs to be very detailed. Thanks, Larry

The Chilton book uses the same schematic as the Jeepster Service Manual, but do yourself a favor and spend the $35 for the Jeepster Manual. It's content is far better than Chilton's. If you can't locate one locally, try Leon Rosser Jeep at 800-633-4724. Oh, by the way, the Kaiser era wiring diagrams don't show the color coding of the wires, that's something AMC took care of in the 70's. Once you get your manual, take it to a copy shop and make some copies of the schematic so you don't get greasy paw prints on the original, like I did. Also have them blow one up for you as big as you can get so you don't have to use a microscope to read and follow the wires.

If you want an 8 1/2 X 11 copy of the one in the service manual, I can enlarge one from my book (I've done it for myself on several occations). It comes out clear enough to trace the wires, even at the ignition. I can mail it, or FAX it to you. Drop me an Email, or reply here and I'll do it tomorrow.

One source I use are the Mitchell's Manuals at my public library. I've not looked at the wiring diagrams for a 69 Jeepster in the Mitchell's Manuals yet. I've used the Mitchell's Manuals for lots of vehicles, many older than a 69 model. The Mitchell's Manuals are located in the Reference Section.
