Default TRANS SWAP

I HAVE JUST SWAPPED IN A 350 AUTOMATIC INTO MY 71 COMMANDO WHICH HAS THE 225CI V-6. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS ON THE EMERGENCY BRAKE CABLE, WHICH IS NOW TO SHORT. ALSO THE KICKDOWN CABLE WILL NEED A BRACKET AND SOME SORT OF HOOKUP TO THE CARB.

I have a couple ideas. My school of thought on conversions are either factory or aftermarket parts, then fabrication if the first two options will not work.
I'll start with the Turbo 350 kick down first. In the mid 70's Buick used a Rochester 2G carburetor with it's 231 engines. Most all of these mid 70's Buick cars also used the Turbo 350. It could be that a combination of mid 70's Buick 231 parts (carburetor, brackets, and kick down) could be adapted to your 71 Commando?
My first thought about the emergency brake cable was to get a new cable fabricated to a longer lenght. This may sound simple, but not everyone is located near a place to make cables. Many yacht / boat repair facilities can help. It might be possible that a similar year Wagoneer might have a cable that could work?
A day at the junk yard could generate several options also.

the brake problem is easy, i bought a MICO micro brake system (NAPA), you just put it inline of your existing brake lines and flip a lever, you can cut out all of your old cables and nuisance hardware !!!!! about 180 bucks.

Summit Racing, JEG'S, and Advance Adapters all have throttle linkage/ kickdown brackets available designed for Chevy 350 but I am sure you could adapt them to a Buick 350. As for the emergency brake cable try calling Leon Rosser Jeep they are used to conversions and can probably offer and alternative or at least get you the different lengths available. They have answered my questions many times.
