| | | Clayton, GA. accommadations info
This would be a dream come true if we had the east coast gathering here ! After all , I was the one who drove the farthest to the 2000 raid in colorado, it would be a great reward to have it in georgia. Anyway here is a good source for accommadation information for the Clayton area . www.gamountains.com/accom.html . I will try to gather more info for yall. If anybody has any questions that need to be answered in regards to having the get together in GA. I will do all I can to get them answered, just be patient, remember we're a little slower down here. Will we Northerners need to find a New England-to-Southern translation dictionary? I'd like to help build one, as I spent a few years in flight school in Pensacola, but the only word I vaguely remember from there is "Bushwacker" [and it's a GOOD one!]. It'll be hard enough for those of us not from the "Deep South" [which, as we all know is defined as anything below Darien, Connecticut], but I hate to think of how hard things would be on Linda Rodgers from [Oh,] Canada... portions of which are evidently still owned by France... Maybe those of us from North of, say, Virginia, could meet up on the way and travel down in a group? -Any thoughts? |

I got some REAL hillbilly family in the mountains around there. They are wonderful people but it don't git no more southern than them (except maybe Drayson)

This is my first post on this board. I recently bought a '71 Commando and have been following the board since then. I was surprised to see the post regarding Clayton, Ga. because this is where I was raised and I know the area well. I might be able to provide some more info about the area for anyone interested. |

Steve,
I spent a lot of time in Clayton myself as a child and still visit due to all of the family I have there. I know all of the area attractions but am unsure about local wheeling. Tomy Short is from there and looks in on this board some. Although we haven't decided for sure on Clayton as our Jeepster Jam location.
Do you know of the OHV trails there?
