Unhappy Selling my Jeepster...

Well, I knew this might be coming sooner or later, but I didn't plan on it this soon, nor did I want to end it this way.

Yep, I'm putting the Jeepster up for sale. I have been having engine issues for some time now, and been getting by on a bandaid and a prayer. Well, last Wednesday I finally lost all compression on number 1 cylinder. Under normal circumstances, this wouldn't be too bad, maybe an opportunity for an upgrade. But with being out of work for 10 months, (just got my job back last week too), and especially since I have two other major Jeep projects that are needing every extra penny I have, I have decided to call it quits. My plan was to drive the Jeepster until my LS powered Scrambler was driveable, but that won't happen now. Fixing the Jeepster would just put me more behind on the Scrambler, and if selling is on the horizon anyways, I don't think fixing it is in my best financial interest anyways.

So, I sat down to do some figuring,to see what was most cost effective. Selling as-is, fixing to sell, or parting out. It's way too nice to part out, but with current prices, that is probably the best way to get the most cash. I just hate to do that, it's such a great vehicle, but... Fixing to sell would not be wise, the cost probably would be about what additional I could get. Sell as is? I'd love to, that means someone would be wanting to bring her back to life.

So, seeing as this is more of a feeler than a For Sale post, I put it here. If anyone is interested in a 5 cylinder 1970 Jeepster for, say, $1200, let me know. I know there has been some interest discussed here. It still runs and is capable of getting on a transport vehicle under it's own power. Heck, I drove it 5 miles home on just 5 cylinders. The only things I am keeping are the winch and the wheels/tires. I have at least five times this in just parts alone. If there isn't any interest within a few weeks, I'll be parting her out.

Specs on request...

A sad day....

There are already a few interested parties, but if you are interested, let me know-
