| | 67 Jeepster Convertible, Disk brakes
Hello, I just recently bought a '67 Jeepster Convertible, ran barely enough to put on the tow dolly. Got it home, and worked on it for about 2 hours, ran good enough to drive around town a bit.
Physically the car is in really in good condition, a little rust but fixable, the brakes are borderline unsafe. I would like to convert the front brakes to disk, but I don't know which front diff I have.
Actually I know very little about this car other than v6 dauntless engine, rochester carb, automatic trans, and "power brakes" (does that mean both feet?)
Who makes a kit for this car, which differentials do I have.
Thanks,
Stratmax

These are pretty rare and my advice would be to do a restoration. The Jeepsters were very drivable with drum brakes and any modification will devalue the rig. Go to the tech section and contact members for parts/advice. Don Fletcher, Mark Vilbert and others are listed under sources. Please do a search for this before starting on modifications. The guys on this site are very helpful.

It's probably a Dana 27 on the front with 10" drums. Discs are doable, but converting to 11" drums is much easier

Sweet looking Jeepster! Is the interior as nice?
yea, going to do disc might hurt your value to the collectors and like previously mentioned going to the larger drums are much easier.
Again Sweet Looking Ride!

We're about the same place with brakes. Yore rig is miles ahoead with paint and body/...looks pretty straight. I Just bought power booster kit from Don Fletcher. Looking at restoring so rebuild of 225 and TH400 are next on the list. If you've got a source for new top I'd be interested...
Best of luck.

Thanks, You guys have me set on keeping this car as factory as I can, shouldn't be too difficult, considering she still has the factory top, carpet, upholstery. Found this as is, couple 1x2" rust holes in floor boards and just a couple rust bubbles in the paint. Car has only 39,000 miles, had to rebuild carb (long story there). This winter she's going in the shop to fix the rust, get a new top and re-upholstery plus sending the brake booster out for re-build.
Regarding the top, we actually have a man locally who's does convertibles and upholstery, we'll see how it turns out. Other places to look at is Best Tops, your search engine should be able to pull it up.
